I’m not here to insult your intelligence. I know you know how to make a smoothie. BUT, I’m on a smoothie bender at the moment (having just purchased a blender) and I know that it sometimes helps to have a little inspiration or a place to start.
Ratios are important – how much of this, how much of that, what’s going to give me the perfect thickness, the perfect texture, the most satisfying taste? These are the questions I will attempt to answer this week with the smoothie-a-rama that’s about to unfold. Get ready fo’ it. I give you, the banana nutella smoothie.
Today’s goodness? Well this is just about the only way, shape or form in which you will ever get me to eat a banana. I just straight up DO NOT like bananas. But my overwhelming need to eat chocolate for breakfast is nigh impossible to resist, and if there’s no banana in your glass, well you’ve got a breakfast milkshake my friends and that’s no way to start the day.
So this beast has a whole banana (so gross), a fat dollop of nutella (the pay off), some espresso powder (necessary), almond milk and plenty of ice. Optionally, you can also add a scoop of organic, flavorless or vanilla protein powder. Whatever floats your breakfast boat! - 1 cup ice
- 1 whole, ripe banana
- 2 tbsp nutella
- 2 tsp instant espresso powder
- ½ cup almond milk
- Place the ingredients in order into the blender, and blitz until smooth. Pour into a glass and serve.
