Bacon, Egg and Cheese Bagels {street food monday}

Bacon Egg and Cheese Bagels | The Sugar Hit

Hey-oh! Welcome to New York baby! Tell me something…do you ever read a blog to kind of vicariously live in a cool city? I’m on a major New York bender at the moment, people. I’m reading ALLLLL about the Big Apple.

And I love to read food blogs, because they’re written by people who care about the same things I care about, like eating…end of list. And I first heard about this delicious deli staple on one o’ my favourite NYC blogs (and blogs in general) Grilled Cheese Social. OK, so Mackenzie’s recipe is pretty different to mine, but that was my inspiration.

This is the kind of thing that travels really surprisingly well. Bacon, egg, cheese in a bagel, wrapped in paper and foil will stay warm for a CRAZY long time. So if you’re ever driving somewhere early in the morning, these are the ultimate road-trip treat. But even if you’re not going anywhere, you really should wrap these babies and let them steam for a while anyway.

Because it’s when the cheese melts and everything sort of melds together that this bagel starts to get really delicious. Also, if you want to make your own bagels like I did, this is my favourite recipe – it’s super easy and it works erry time.

Sorry for the short post today, but I’m working on something crazy huge at the moment, which I shall tell you about soon! I’ll meet you in New York and we can talk all about it, OK?

xx Sarah.
